Paint Prep and Finish Standards for Salt Lake County
Interior painting is about the prep work. We patch and sand holes, caulk gaps at trim and baseboards, prime bare spots, and protect floors and furniture with drop cloths. Using quality primer and paint matters — we use Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore products that hold up in Salt Lake County's dry climate with high UV exposure through south- and west-facing windows.
Most Salt Lake County homes have textured walls that require careful rolling technique to avoid lap marks. We use the proper nap roller for each texture type and maintain a wet edge throughout each coat to ensure even coverage.
We also offer color consultation and sheen recommendations. Flat and matte finishes hide wall imperfections best. Eggshell and satin are more washable for kitchens, bathrooms, and hallways. Semi-gloss is standard for trim and doors.
